Gandhiji k teen Bandar. Don’t see, hear or speak bad. Excuse me, what? what did you just say? “Bad”? Well Mr. Gandhi, I think you died before explaining the word “bad”. If anyone can please define it for me, Yes I hear someone screamed it’s the absence of “good”. Well dude I hope you don’t die before explaining the word “good”. Let us give a little break here and think, can we completely define any of the above terms without using the other? Are these terms mutually dependent? Just like light and darkness, heat and cold, god and evil, win and loose, top and bottom, left and right?
No, I am not accusing Gandhiji of telling us an incomplete story, (I can’t match his vision) or even if I am, is it bad? Or even if it is, are you judging? Or even if you are, do I care? {}
But that is the way we are, as children we were told by our mothers that a “bhoot” or “baba ” will eat us if we don’t behave properly or disturb her, we took it as true (just like we took teen Bandar story as complete). But now we know that no such “bhoot” or “baba” will eat us, we are mature now, or should I say mature enough , because mature is another relative term.
In similar case, we take the people, who attacked our country, as bad people; we take them wrong, or evil. Why? Because we are educated enough (don’t forget ‘enough’) to see what is good and what is bad, we think we got the right education (don’t forget ‘right’) which taught us not to kill anyone, so we are allowed to judge. But education is just like Gandhiji’s half told story, as we forget that if we were also born and brought up in those military camps, we would also be doing the same, we would also be killing people, because we are programmed to believe in “babas” and “bhoots”. Of course ‘bhoots’ and ‘babas’ would change.
But that is the way we think, we believe in absolutism, we don’t even try to filter our thoughts, we choose to run, run against time, never realizing that the only absolute thing we depend upon i.e time, is also relative. Yes, “a second” is not always a second old. We all know it, but never realize it.
Ok it might have gone a little boring (don’t forget ‘little’) and redundant. In short; I don’t want you to discover complexity when witnessing simplicity, I don’t want you to discover sorrow when witnessing happiness, I want you to think why autumn is your favorite weather, I want you to see things from the top, learn how not to judge but to analyze, to see both left and right standing either ways.
I think this story is complete and not half told, or is it? Well, you know what to do {]

short, crisp and pretty stimulating without getting too much into the details. great piece!
How one sighted we are!
well i don't know what i am trying to say here. I will just share my views about things you talked about in the same order as stated above.'gandhi's 3 monkeys' phelosophy can be puzzling only when it's presented without context.those 3 clauses go way deeper...
i was told the same bhoot and baba stories when i was a kid and personally they din't do any harm to me other than giving me a chance to live in a virtual world of fantasy and mistry. Besides i don't think i would have understood any of those 'behave yourself' crap for it's actual logic.
now as far as 'judging' is concerned i think it's obvious that my left is not gonna be your left for innumerable combinations but my left is gonna be my left only. what I am trying to say here is that you have to be in someone's shoe.judging is unavoidable not just because it's a basic human nature but for the fact the it gives us access to the right(ability) to choose. i personally feel that brain-storming over 'why not this' in stead 'why this' may avoid a lot of unnecessary confusions.
Remember you always have your left with you. :)
@gaurav: sorry boss i do not agree, though i understand what you are saying, but why would you judge unless and until u r the judge?
i am not against htose three cluses dude i am gainst our thought process, that did we ever thought what "bad" is? bura mat dekho, but honey do, bura mat kaho but honey do, han Gandhiji ka yeh matlab nahi tha,ya nahi, i dnt know, but shayad humlog yehi matlab nikaltey hain.
i am not accusing bhoot baba story as well,i was comparing the isue, when we were children we believed in it,now we dnt,so is it the time when we start thinking in different directions?
that was my point-it's foolish to interpret the statement as "let it be" and he(gandhi) demonstrated how it should be practiced by starting movements like non-cooperation against company raj. and dude just see for yourself. what you are doing here is the same. passing judgment on whether or not to judge. it can not be avoided and it's not always bad to judge when you can think rationally.
i am analyzing a fact (from my left and right), and passing it,no judgment, see if i say "smoking is bad" i am judging, but if i say "smoking is harmful" i am analyzing, but than it is upto perceptions, i call former a judgment, u call latter!!
anyways if you are judging rationally you are analyzing..
oh i got too late to comment
well rahul ,whatever u wrote here is something I stand for, i relate to every word of it, it's as if u have comprehended my thoughts to words,if strikin a chord is an expression,u struck a symphony. And the way you interacted with the reader is phenomenal,it was like every thought in my mind after reading was written in the bracket.
My fav lines
"No, I am not accusing Gandhiji of telling us an incomplete story, (I can’t match his vision) or even if I am, is it bad? Or even if it is, are you judging? Or even if you are, do I care? {}"
it's like every thought answered
But the editing needs to be better, i even found an spelling error, ignorence not expected from pros.
rest all said and done..can some one throw more light on that dearest friend ;) m nt being cheesy, rather wondering, who is it pointing to.. :P
well, abt the blog..its nice to read, rather quite nice to read and put on ur thinking hats, but tough to follow, atleast for me it is..!
@rini: dearest friend is the person for whom it is difficult to follow :)
@pallav: han yaar, iknow kaafi galtiyaan rehgai, thoda aur professionalism dalna seekhna hai, long way to go, thanx for appreciating the content!
aaaee..chii..i shudnt hv commented @ all..u only follow ur analysing technique,n jz leave it analysed n undecided..hunn!
@rahul- first of all congrates! that you finally decided to delve in something uncomfortable.Else i thought you'd always go persuasive way evrywhere but save the more real you for the intimate crowd(like us guys). See i know you don't like spilling dirt but, critisism differs from cynicism. Critic is someone who wishes to make things apt( according to their own perceptions of course) and thus there is an element of true involvement. Cynisism has all the malice.
That done : things having two sides has always been there; you being the one to realize yourself are blessed. But the people on target of central idea too get the way they do because of certain explanations from there side.
Good thing is you realised and shared with everyone (mostly people move on saying "grow up" or "it's obvious"(me?more?)).
Besides interpreting the monkey trio in your sense was gutsy. I am too much of a Gandhi fan to ever have thought that way. New dimension always required cause the 3 or 4 that are there aren't helping all. I agree Good or Bad is perspective typical and yes i do have problems with the stories i have been told in my childhood.I get scared of various reasons . Indesicion,Incapability of making my stand to some extent(though it is a past thing) are few of indirect effects. "Bhoot" types can be direct . Never lie to a kid .That is some negative energy ( is the recommender of celestine prophecy reading?).
Why i wasn't familiar with sex and so i started disliking myself the first time i masturbated? .......that is nothing to laugh i mean it.Yeah finally people get "big" and thus "mature". But why the trauma when i never needed it? I love everything about this life so don't think i am accusing anything. People did what they did because of their reasons. Which i can't say were wrong . Now my turn what was if "isn't" "good enough" i'll try to do better.
Also since i knw people who didn't set sides for them or their kids according to what already had been rather they are more of practice oriented, also they are entirely social people so wouldn't say all are alike. I am not saying to ignore what is uncomfortable but analysis will be a born trait only if we learn and apply that better which we learn. Differences will always be there. No body can eradicate. No body.
The concept left and right and all those things you know what my stand is about them so no point explaining.
Literature was a bit disappointing according to what respect the piece required but since the idea is crystal clear which is-
you are not accusing any. Almost urging for more conceptuality keeping personal experiences in mind and not being neutral rather taking side for globl good and especially in budding years.....
so full marks **** that's it now literature ka 1 star kaat liya hai. Don't give me the excuse you don't have much you can learn.
now ab thodi masti
@ ankita- stop throwing absolute obvious that is what the author has written against of
@Anonymous - parrots love chilli but does the lips of a toddler? i wonder . Perfect childhood i'd say. Welearn from imperfections but getting away from dislikes is what? intelligent ? jo achcha nahin tha us se bhag nahin raha hun par jehan mein he taaki auron ke saath na hone paaye taaki aane wale ka jehan saaf ho ..... not acerbic about that even but jo tha wo tha aagey ki dekho.....kyun? jo gaya wo bhi mera tha jo hai or jo hoga wo bhi ..... sab gale se laga ke rakhta hun chahe achchca ya bura ....influence nahin hota.......
m tired now ideas wayward ho rahe hain isliye itna hi likhta hun kuch or hoga to baad mein likhunga
@Anonymous -- lefts coincide when you and me are facing the same direction. that doesn't takes innumerable combinations.
@ sumit-bhisahab, shabdo ki keemat ko samajh dost, kisi din khatam hoajeyngey toh bansi ko gaali bhi nahi dey paeyga!
i accept literature mein bht gadbad, gotto go along way, but will give a better output next time
and haan woh parrot chilli wali baat thodi jadah hogai, unnecessary.
rest keep bringing it in people, point out mistakes, tell waht you liked and what u did not, help me improve
this time i need 2say i agree with u bro...well im nt a follower of this BAD SEEING SAYING theory or turning my back towrds d reality agree with 'bhoot ' 'baba' story or i say appreciat d vision towards this aspect, dat a baby is blank notebook writings in them be it their parents society n environmnt, drives their thinkin perception n more importantly choosing their 'ROADS'.....
@rahul --- abey parrot chilli thing se oopar maine likha hai " ab thodi masti" uske baad jo likha ....... not meant ..... even i dont want to carry baggage ..... it's unnecessary ...... is cheez main to i take sides with anonymous.....that was some anti fodder of collateralities of brain function ...... no bars when you write ....the humor could be villainous too.... if the one it's intended for knows the lack of malice in the source's intention
or haan shabd khatam nahin honge ......take my word for it
word taken, and everything else too!
dude .. the simple explanation for this is > "it applies to bandar's" or inversely "if u follow them .. it means ur a bandar" simple question to be asked is... do u wanna be one?
